A very disturbing corpse -Altantuya Murdered

The murder of a Mongolian interpreter, in the heart of a thriller combining arms sales, jet-set and power, could jeopardize the future leader of the country.

This is the story of a murder, as we read in a confidential report of the Malaysian police. That of Altantuya, a young Asian interpreter, taken in a dark case of arms sales between France and Malaysia. A murder that might be involved man promised to become, in late March, Prime Minister of Malaysia.

"When the Chinese saw that I took a gun, she begged me to save that she was pregnant," says Omar Sirul, police Special Branch of the Malaysian police to another one Commission in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of the country. "Azilah [Sirul supervisor] has caught the Chinese and was projected to the ground. I immediately drawn to his left temple. Then Azilah was stripped and put his clothes in a black plastic bag. Azilah saw that his hand was moving again. He told me to draw a second time, what I did, "we read in this document of five pages, remain secret so far - and that release could be obtained. "We then transported the body in the jungle. Azilah was surrounded by explosives and we blew up," says Sirul, who has always believed qu'Altantuya Shaaribuu, killed in October 2006, was China. It was actually Mongolian.

Disappearance of witnesses

Of great beauty, this young woman of 28 years to spawn in the Asian jet-set. A sort of Mata Hari in the Far East, who had spent his childhood in St. Petersburg (Russia), then studied at the Institute of Economic Management in Beijing. Besides English, she spoke fluent Russian, Chinese and Korean. The revelation, in Liberation, the police report is the latest bizarre twist of a thriller which combines merchants cannons French, Mongolian shamans and Malaysian politicians.

Not only the matter is explosive for the government of Malaysia - Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak is suspected of ordering the murder - but it could also provide door-to-fake French company DCNS, which specializes in construction naval shipbuilding. In 2007, DCNS has indeed absorbed Armaris, the Franco-Spanish company, which in June 2002, sold to Malaysia two Scorpene submarines and a submarine used Agosta. Amount: one billion euros, including some "commissions". The murder of the young Mongol is a consequence of the payment of an amount of 114 million euros Armaris to the Malaysian. This payment, officially recognized by the Malaysian government to Parliament for Kuala Lumpur, which has triggered a cascade of events, including the disappearance of key witnesses in the case and the murder of Altantuya.

For the young woman, the death spiral began in 2004 when meeting in Hong Kong, Abdul Razak Baginda, a military expert who heads the Malaysian Strategic Research Center. They formed an early love affair and Altantuya - his friends call Tuya - assistance, such as translating Russian documents.

Altantuya is young and beautiful, the rich and attractive Baginda is a personality for the jet set Malaysian, in particular because of its proximity to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Malaysia, Najib Razak, he is the adviser for security affairs. Baginda is in the closed circles in Kuala Lumpur, sometimes with his legal wife.

In March 2005, Baginda and Altantuya went to a European tour: France, Germany, Italy, Portugal crossed in the Ferrari red of Malaysia, with stops in the most exclusive hotels. This journey is not just tourism: the agreement for the purchase of the submarines was signed in 2002, but important details remain to be discussed. "We know that Baginda was used by Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak as intermediary for certain weapons, particularly those of high level, "says an expert in regional security.

End March, the couple is in Paris, where he finds Najib Razak. A photo taken at the end of March 2005 shows the trio in a club in Paris. According to a private detective who investigated this case, the beautiful Tuya was also the occasional master of the Deputy Prime Minister, which had been submitted by end 2004 Baginda.

Scenes of harassment

This story turns to tragedy when, in October 2006, Altantuya told that the commission paid by the Franco-Spanish Armaris came to an account in Kuala Lumpur. It was collected by Perimekar, a company headed Baginda. Altantuya file then Ulan Bator in Kuala Lumpur, to call for his part in Baginda, it separated the meantime: 500 000 dollars would have been promised! By jealousy, the wife of Najib Razak, the formidable businesswoman Rosmah Mansor, will be opposed to what the young Mongol key money. Altantuya then arrive in Malaysia with two other Mongolians, including a charge of shaman cast a spell on Baginda it does not give him money. For several days, it is harassing his ex-lover. On 18 October, Baginda does more of Altantuya scenes outside his home. He contacted the director of the Special Branch of the Malaysian Police, Musa Safri, who is also an aide to the Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak.

On 19 October early evening, two policemen from the Special Branch, Sirul and Azilah Hadridan Omar, are sent to the home where Baginda and Altantuya trépigne screams. They were ordered to "neutralize the Chinese: they kidnap the lead to ten kilometers Baginda's home and killed by bullets. Then they destroy his body with explosives C-4, which can be obtained only with the agreement of the Department of Defense. Entering the territory of Malaysia is erased records of the Malaysian police of immigration. Altantuya is never coming to Malaysia in October 2006 - there is no trace of her.

But there is no perfect murder. The taxi driver qu'Altantuya had hired for the day did not see a good eye removed his client in front of him but the course is paid. Advised, it is the number of the license plate of the car of the kidnappers and complaint to the nearest. Within days, police identified the car and realizes that this is an official vehicle. This is the gear, which even the Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak can not escape. It attempts to cover-up. Several hours before the arrest of Baginda, Najib sends a text message: "I see the inspector general of police in 11 hours ... The problem will be solved. Still cool. Alas, Baginda was soon arrested and two policemen from the Special Branch, Azilah and Sirul.

After a trial deemed questionable by many observers, Baginda, accused of having ordered the murder, is acquitted in November 2008. Accused of having carried out the dirty work, Azilah and Sirul appeared last month in court. They are punishable by death and the verdict must be delivered on 9 April.

Altantuya case has become a central element of the political game between Malaysia Najib Razak - who is likely to reach the head of government - and opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim. Razak has so far managed to avoid the pitfalls, but the murder of the young woman remains a sword of Damocles hanging over his head.

A thousand miles away, in the Mongolian capital Ulan Bator, Shaaribuu Setev, Altantuya's father, pondering his anger. Wedged in a sofa in the lobby of a hotel where the wind rushes by gusts, his father, a professor of psychology of a sixty years, explodes: "My daughter was killed on the ground in Malaysia Malaysians. And they have not even had an apology! The Malaysian government does not even answer letters Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "Acquittal of Baginda was considered a gross injustice. When the father of Altantuya came to Malaysia to meet Parliament Najib Razak, it was overshadowed by a back door to avoid an embarrassing interview.

Schengen visa

Altantuya left behind two orphans: Mungunshagai, his eldest son, aged 12, was traumatized by the disappearance of her mother. Altanshagai, 5 years old, who suffers from a mental disability, has not yet understood that it will never his mother. "He claims Altantuya continuously and remains prostrate in a chair. Every evening, I bring him candy and I told him that his mother gave them, "says his grandfather.

One of the obscurities of the case focuses on the game played by the firm Armaris. In October 2007, Deputy Defense Minister Zainal Abdidin Zin, admitted to Parliament qu'Armaris had paid a commission of 114 million euros Perimekar. However, he said, it was not a bribe, but a payment for "support services and coordination."

Was there corruption, as in the case of the frigates in Taiwan in which the DCNS was also involved? The DCNS, a privately owned, did not wish to meet us. "Nobody can comment on this case," we simply told the person in charge of relations with the press in Paris. A document establishing a link between Altantuya and the French company could be a letter of guarantee written in 2005 by Abdul Razak Baginda for his mistress to get a visa allowing him to enter the Schengen area. The French embassy could not refuse this favor to a man decorated with the Legion of Honor. Altantuya's role in the negotiations for the purchase of submarines is not clear, either. His profile does not fail to intrigue the world of intelligence and the Russian FSB (former KGB) follows closely the case. For its part, Baginda moved to Britain with his family. He never had a word of regret about the unhappy lot of those who shared his life for two years.

Rosmah at murder scene

"It's mindboggling!" - That's how Raja Petra Kamarudin's statutory declaration alleging that Deputy Prime Minister Najib's wife was at the murder scene of Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu was described today. An aide to Najib Abdul Razak also said they were aware of this latest claim made by Raja Petra, who also runs the 'Malaysia Today' website.

"At the moment, we are looking into it. This is a very mind-boggling statutory declaration," said the aide when contacted.

The latest allegation hurled at Rosmah Mansor was made by well-known blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin via a statutory declaration (below) signed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Wednesday.

The aide however refused to comment if any action could be taken against Raja Petra.

rosmah mansor najib wife 261004Najib and Rosmah (left) have repeatedly denied they are linked to the killing of Altantuya, describing the widely-known allegations was nothing more than ‘slander and concocted stories’.

In his latest bombshell, Raja Petra accused Rosmah as among three individuals who were present when Altantuya was murdered on October 19, 2006.

"I have been reliably informed that between about 10pm on October 19, 2006 and early hours of the following day, the night Altantuya Shaariibuu was murdered, three other people were also present at the scene of crime," he said, according to his two-page statutory declaration.

He named the two other individuals as one acting colonel Aziz Buyong, who is described as ‘a C4 expert’ and the latter’s wife, known only as Norhayati, who is also said to be Rosmah’s aide de camp.

‘A crime not to reveal’

Altantuya’s body is alleged to have been blown up with C4 explosives at a secondary forest in Puncak Alam, Shah Alam. The murder trial is currently ongoing at the Shah Alam High Court.

"My informer states that Aziz was the person who placed the C4 on various parts of Altantuya’s body witnessed by Rosmah and Norhayati," Raja Petra claimed in the document.

"I make this statutory declaration because I have been reliably informed about the involvement of these three people who have thus far not been implicated in the murder nor called as witnesses by the prosecution in the ongoing trial at the Shah Alam High Court.

"I also make this statutory declaration because I am aware that it is a crime not to reveal evidence that may help the police in its investigation of the crime," read the document, which was first posted on the bigdogdotcom blog run by another blogger.

umno selangor najib muhyiddin event anti pak lah banners 160408 05Raja Petra, contacted by Malaysiakini, has confirmed the content of the document.

He further alleged that he has also been ‘reliably informed’ that Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi knows of Najib's (right) wife alleged involvement.

"[...] Abdullah has received a written report from military intelligence confirming what I have revealed and this report was subsequently handed over to his son-in-law Khairy Jamaluddin for safekeeping," he said.

Apart from Abdullah and Khairy, Raja Petra claimed "one of the (Malay) Rulers" has also been briefed about the matter and is fully aware of the allegation.

He said he has agreed not to reveal their names other than mention that the prime minister and his son-in-law have been given a copy of the military intelligence’s report.

Police inaction over report

"The purpose of this statutory declaration is to urge all these parties who have been duly informed and have knowledge of this matter to come forward to reveal the truth so that the police are able to conduct a proper and thorough investigation into the murder of Altantuya.

"And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true and by virtue of the provisions of the Statutory Declaration Act, 1960," he said in his declaration.

altantuya razak baginda mongolian murder case 030907In the phone interview, Raja Petra explained why he did not lodge a police report on the latest allegation which could lead to a fresh police probe on the Altantuya (left) murder.

The blogger said since there was no action over a police report he had lodged in a separate case in 2001 when he was allegedly beaten up by a high-ranking policeman, "I am not bothered in making a police report".

When asked why the document was posted elsewhere instead of his own 'Malaysia Today' site, he retorted: "Why must it be published on my site?"

Raja Petra was called in for police questioning early last month over an article titled ‘Let’s send the Altantuya murderers to hell’ in which he implicated Najib and Rosmah in the high-profile murder case.

A close aide to Najib, political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda and two police special operations force personnel have been charged with the murder of the Mongolian national.

All three have pleaded not guilty for the ongoing trial. They face the death sentence should they be found guilty. (MALAYSIAKINI.COM)
